What is the desi wedding budget breakdown? How much does wedding photography cost? How much do I spend on wedding decor? With answers to these questions a bride and groom can better understand how much to spend on each wedding vendor. It can give a couple a point of reference to start their wedding planning. Here are statistics on Wedding budgets from 2012-2013 from South Asian weddings in the New England area. Our 2011-2012 wedding statics were published in The Indus Business Journal. We have written the information for the categories that have a substantial “other” categories in the charts. To help us in the year going forward here is the survey for 2014 for brides in New England.
While we also collected data on the “popular months for Indian weddings, they were all across the board from January to December.
What wedding related events did you have? In the “other” tab the answers included rehearsal dinners, engagement parties and bridal showers.
How much was spent on flowers for all your wedding events? The brides and grooms shared that the cost was included with their decor company.
How much was spent on photography? Couples in the “other” category spent over $10,000 which is understandable when you have 3-4 days of events.
What Colors did brides use for their decor? We received the following combinations as answers: maroon and cream, red and sandlewood, peacock colors, blue,silver and white, black, gold and red, blue, gold and silver and magenta and gold are just a sampling.
Brides to be please give yourself 5-10 minutes to get through the survey. It’s mostly check boxes except for the last page that asks for vendors that you recommend and/or don’t. Here it is again (share it with brides you know are getting married this year) survey for 2014 brides.
