Want to look like the Greek goddess of Beauty? You won’t have to look futher than Nachiket Barve’s debut bridal collection for the fall winter festive. His inspiration from the timeless beauty of Greco-Roman Goddesses, such as Aphrodite, Hera, Gaia, Artemis and Athena become apparent in the toga style draping reminiscent of the Greeks. The wedding color palette began with deep indigo, burgundy, black and moved to Paprika, mustard, splashes of gold, bronze and pewter. The show was a symphony of luxurious lehengas, cholis with cold shoulders and long trailing capes, gowns and dramatic two-toned loose pants.
The Queen of florals and watercolors, Anushree Reddy, drew inspiration from the beautiful princess of Hyderabad, Niloufer. “I wanted to draw attention to the decadence of Hyderabadi design which is all about elaborate royal opulence. With this collection, I aim to transport the audience back to the majestic Mughal empire with its royal courtesans and stately princes.” shared Reddy in a statement about her collection. From lehengas to trendy capes, Reddy had pieces in her collection for everyone. There were outfits for our brides to be to wear to pre-wedding events and of course bridal lehengas. The color palette started off with peachy pinks going into burnt oranges to sunset yellows and then golds. Fabrics like pure hand weaved ahimsa silk, organza and pure organic mal mal breathed romance into the garments. Anushree Reddy also showcased a menswear collection which focused on understated elegance for the modern man with rich hand woven fabrics, rich handmade detailing and subtle embellishments.
