2014 Wedding Trends in DJ and lighting
We had the pleasure of speaking with DJ Yogz from Boston Sound and Light Company about this year’s hottest wedding trends 2014. Dj Yogz has been in the industry for over 14 years and is constantly working to find new and innovative ways to give his client’s a unique wedding that is exclusive to them.
A 2014 wedding trend that we are seeing more and more is that clients carry a theme or a design throughout their wedding events. Couple’s now look at planning the entire event versus looking at each ceremony separately. In doing so they are creating a wedding that is personalized and unique to them.
For example, one of the first things the guests see of the wedding is the invitations. The couple may choose the colors and carry those through the wedding events. Another detail on the wedding invitations that the guests would see is a monogram and/or a design that they carry through the wedding events. As a DJ, Yogi and his team can take those details and incorporate it in the wedding reception. They can take the monogram and design and put it on a gobo that is on your dance floor as the guests enter the ballroom.
Another 2014 wedding trend that Boston Sound and Light Company offers is a fairly new concept in the wedding industry called Breakout patterns. The couple can create a whole effect throughout the room in a specific pattern. This dramatic effect can change the ambiance of your whole reception. It can also allow for you to choose simpler centerpieces and wedding decor elements. Check out the photos below.

The New England South Asian wedding industry has changed drastically over the past 5 years. No longer are wedding vendors sticking to their own jobs, but now we see more of a collaboration between vendors to give couple’s the most customized and unique wedding possible.
Another innovative service involves DJs is taking their booth and using it to showcase the couple rather than the DJ company. Boston Sound and Light has found a way to personalize their booth for the couple. They place a Flat screen TV in front of their booth and display the couple’s engagement photos as the guests enter the wedding reception. See photo below:
The new services DJs and lighting provide don’t stop there!! Our last trend we want to share involves the couple’s wedding website. DJs can create a personalized mix that the couple can use on their wedding website with songs that are sentimental to the couple or songs to hype up your wedding guests.
