Umber and Zohair’s Pakistani wedding
Umber worked with Alankar to create her cheery and bright mehndi decor, from the colorful fabric backdrop to the colors on her clothes, Umber had a beautiful vision. We love the elegantly traditional cream and red Pakistani wedding dress that Umber wore. This heartwarming wedding celebration was captured by Jashim Jalal photography, come back this afternoon for the reception!.
Where did you get your wedding inspiration: During my wedding planning, Pinterest was my best friend for months! I knew the theme I wanted for the shaadi (Mughal meets Modern Day) and reception (Timeless Elegance) since I was young J I just had to find ways to bring it to life. I had a HUGE binder filled with random ideas that I loved cutting and pasting together. DIY projects were the most fun! Given the chance to be creative was definitely what inspired most of my ideas.
Advice for future brides: Your best friends/sisters can be the best comfort throughout the entire process. I had 10 bridesmaids, all of who were SO much help and really brought my events to life. Having them around with their positive energies really helped keep me sane. Keep the ones you love close-there’s a reason you love them!
Vendor that blew your mind: Our photographer Jashim Jalal was wonderful in the sense that not only did he take beautifully amazing photographs; he offered advice/assistance throughout all 3 days-going above and beyond what was asked of him. Shoba at Alankar decorators did a beautiful job of taking all the ideas I had in my head about the décor (believe me, there were many!) and bringing them to life. Not having much experience with a Pakistani wedding in the past, our videographers really took the time to capture the moments important to us.
Anything you would want to do differently: No. Whereas the entire three day event was a new, fun, and exciting experience, I wouldn’t want to go back and do it again. I’m happier accepting things the way they occurred because honestly, things always play out the way they do for a reason.
Come back this afternoon for the rest of the photos.
