Indian bridal manicure and henna
A majority of brides will get a manicure and pedicure before their wedding events. If you believe it’s a minor detail that you don’t need to think about, think again! Your hands will never be photographed as much as they will on your wedding day and the events leading up to it- so getting a great manicure is important! Try to go a day or two before your mehendi party- your photographer will definitely want to get in some shots of your hands before, during, and after your mehendi is applied. Getting great hand shots also happen during the wedding ceremony and sometimes during the post wedding photo shoot. You may even want to ask the groom to get a basic manicure because his hands will be in the spotlight as well!
Not a regular at your local nail salon? Try out a new salon for your bachelorette party or bridal shower to see how you like it. Shellac or Gel manicures are a great option since they last for up to 2 weeks and look flawless.
For years, most brides have opted for either the classic french manicure or a red nail color, but now we are seeing all sorts of nail options. We’ve seen bold colors, metallics and even ombre styles! South Asian brides often choose a color that goes with their wedding or reception outfits, or something neutral to go with everything, but forget to think of what the henna will look like with the manicure. We’ve created this gallery for you to see what style you may like.
