Our Proposal Story today took our Massachusetts bride to be all the way to Cali for her proposal! Read their engagement story in her own words:
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and so last year when Aneesh and I were still unsure of what our plans would be in the weeks leading up to it, I was extremely frustrated. Aneesh and I live in New York but his family lives in New Jersey and my family lives in Massachusetts, there was no easy way to split our time in both locations. In the final week leading up to Thanksgiving, Aneesh who was out in LA for an interview told me he was going to fly back to NY on a red-eye Thanksgiving morning and we could drive straight up to Boston to be with my family. So the night before, I was super excited and got everything ready to go so that once he came to pick me up- we could be off right away. Little did I know however, Aneesh was not flying back to New York on Thanksgiving Day. Instead, at 4:00am Thanksgiving Day I was woken up by my roommate and told that I had to get up and leave the apartment immediately because Aneesh was waiting for me. I had no idea what she was talking about and was trying to reassure her that I had everything ready to go and Aneesh was still on a plane. She persisted, and got me out of bed and made me get dressed to go outside. As we walk out of the apartment with my luggage, a good friend, Amit, who had introduced Aneesh and I a year and a half earlier, greets me. He leads me out to the street where there is a car waiting for me. I’m so utterly confused and when I climb into a car the driver says “LaGuardia airport right?” I had no idea what he was talking about but luckily my roommate had texted me telling me to check my bag where I would find a piece of paper. I open up this folded paper to find a flight itinerary to Los Angeles!!
My itinerary told me that I would be flying to Minneapolis and had only half an hour to catch my second flight to Los Angeles. In Minneapolis, I just barely made my second flight but when I finally sat down at my seat, I gave Aneesh a call and all he told me was to get some rest and upon my arrival to be on the lookout for a sign with my name on it. When I landed in LA, Adam, a friend of Aneesh was there with a sign that said my name, he told me that he would be my chauffeur. I began asking a million questions, when would I see Aneesh, how long was the car ride, where were we going? But Adam kept tight-lipped and said nothing, but just brought me out to the car. As soon as I sat down, there was a loud banging on my window- it was ANEESH! I was shocked and couldn’t get out any words. But, he told me to get back into the car because our trip was not over! Adam then drove Aneesh and I two hours south of LA to Temecula, CA where I quickly put the pieces together. On our first date a year and a half earlier, Aneesh and I had come to Temecula to visit the South Coast winery, and so once again we were returning to this winery.
When we arrived at the winery, Aneesh led me out to an area that was gated off and as I walked into the area I noticed a gazebo at the end of the way. As we got closer to the gazebo I noticed Aneesh had created collages of pictures of us. When we approached the table, I found a card he had written and as I read the card, Aneesh got down on his knee. After two-plane rides, a two-hour car ride, the moment had arrived, Aneesh put a ring on it!!!!!!
Sigh, just look at the time and effort Aneesh put into making the collages and setting this up!
Stay tuned because this couple will be back in the fall after they say their ” I Dos”
