My Dream Wedding Venue
I started my discussion with my parents and my fiancé of what I was hoping to find in a wedding venue (Santosh just wants us to be married to him it doesn’t matter where) for our Indian wedding in MA. I started the venue search months ago, before he officially put a ring on it. In the end, I contacted/emailed and/or visited 85 various venues in 5 different states for our Indian wedding. That list does not include the 40 or so venues that friends and family recommended or suggested. The search was time consuming; looking for an outdoor venue with an indoor option for 600 people in Rhode Island- does not exist. Unless you have money to burn, but with my numbers, it is not possible. I ran into many venues that would not allow outside catering and with my numbers the $$$$$$ was insane if I were to use their non-Indian caterers!
I did not want to give up, but time was passing by and I needed to lock something down. I’m sure many of you can relate, but all people want to know is, “Did you lock down a date? Do you have a venue?” the pressure was mounting. So after looking at farms, fields, museums, warehouses, vineyards, parks and many other venues, I started looking at the last place I ever thought I would: hotels. Yes, ladies, I am getting married in a hotel after searching for months with family and friends for my perfect outdoor setting. Ultimately, an outdoor wedding for 600 people with an indoor option and a hotel for guest nearby was too much to ask for. We locked down our wedding venue and it is a hotel. Where was the best place you’ve been for an Indian wedding in MA?
