So after we discussed the initial wedding plans/wedding ideas, we discussed how neither of us wanted an engagement party and that was that. We could begin our wedding planning with our wedding venue search.
Our parents made their guest lists and since I am having 6 events, my parents are able to invite people from their extensive guest list to at least one event if not more. While the guest list is constantly in flux, you at least need an idea give or take a dozen people per event when starting your venue search. Now that we had numbers that were a bit more concrete, I could begin calling/contacting/visiting venues.
I discussed the ideas that I had for Indian wedding venues with my parents and some were met with a hard NO. I never pictured my wedding in a hotel, but that was the only venue that my parents could envision. Growing up in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, I wanted a wedding that reflected our area and me. I started with my dream venues: the Newport Mansions.
I learned pretty quick that just because the venue has 40+acres or perfectly manicured lawns, that doesn’t mean they are willing to fill that space with people. The majority of the Newport Mansions and other unique spaces around Newport have a capacity in the 225 range. Boo hoo. So off I go to calling contacting and visiting new venues.
Come back soon to continue the wedding venue search with me.

There are so many things to do when planning a wedding.
These ideas about wedding venue are really awesome and can be really helpful.
