My name is Sheheryar Shahid and I am an Indian Wedding photographer based from Staten Island, NY. I started out in automotive photography a few years back. The story of my transition from automotive to wedding photography is a bit cliche when one fateful day I shot a wedding for a friend and got addicted to the art of telling a love story with my lens. That day I realized how complex yet rewarding, and how diverse the genre of wedding photography actually is. There is nothing that gives me more joy than capturing the perfect smile of a perfect bride or the pearls of joy during a father and daughter dance. I have a photo-journalistic approach to weddings and I rather catch a smile on the fly than posing my couples for it. I go to my stake outs (your wedding of course), I wait quietly without being noticed (as much as I possibly can) to catch life as it is happening. Every couple has a different story and every couple brings something unique from the couple before and after them. Listening to them, is the key to capture their unique story. I strive to save as many memories for each and every couple as possible so that some day, their children can look back at them and tell their family and friends how their parents wedding was a beautiful affair.
