Vendor Spotlight: Goka Love
Wedding Makeup
Introducing Goka Love Makeup Artistry: whether it’s the glittering jewels or the hint of red that details a traditional Indian wedding, most brides have spent countless hours and many Excel sheets detailing their own wedding. And why wouldn’t they spend all this time? After all, how often does the groom ride a white horse to sweep you off your Manolos! This is the stuff fairy tales are made of … and you never want to miss the first moment your knight in shining armor lays eyes on you! We mustn’t forget that even for Cinderella to get noticed, she had to change from sham to glam the night of the ball. And so it goes without saying, that amidst all the canary yellows and the peacock greens you are debating on, and the midnight oil you are burning to browse through countless images; undoubtedly you want the dark circles, the puffy bags and the blemishes to magically disappear on the day he lays his eyes on you! And what’s even closer to the truth is that it’s just not about showing your flawless best to him, it’s also about the guests, the family, the friends, and all the wedding portraits you are going to show your grandchildren when you wrinkle.
Here’s something all brides must be thankful for – the magic that comes in the form of a make-up artist on your wedding day. For Swara it was the magic that Goka Love captured.
Meet Swara, the bubbly, stress-free, and humorous bride (on her wedding day! what gives?). Swara wanted a non-dramatic, yet an upscale look that was completely different from her usual wear.
Meet Shruti from Goka Love who delivered the look Swara craved. Swara has bold and beautiful hazelnut eyes, and therefore her make-up primarily focused on bringing out this prominent feature. The bold colors on her eyes complimented the greens and reds from her bridal outfit. Her maroonish tikka quietly sitting between her brows, all the matching colors on her eyes and the dash of kohl gave way for her sultry eyes! Topped with a slight highlight on her cheek bones, her final look was picture perfect! So much so that her hard-to-impress mother generously approved of her look! Now what’s a bigger compliment than that from a mother?
It’s the comfort of knowing that besides all the long hours and behind the scenes work that goes into a festive Indian wedding, there are artists out there who can enhance your beauty and make brides look as fresh as ever! -Apeksha Patel
