Reception Centerpiece ideas for the Budget Bride

Over a year ago I was a bride just like all of you. The wedding was in Ohio but I lived in Boston, Massachusetts and couldn’t wrap my head around dealing with vendors over this long distance. After getting a ridiculous quote of thousands of dollars for florals, I decided to do all the wedding reception centerpieces by myself.
The color palette for the reception was black with pops of pinks, reds, and whites. I have to admit that I didn’t really have a clear vision of floral design at the time, but quickly realized that just having thousands of flowers and rose petals everywhere was impactful regardless.
Many brides may not know this, but there are a few easy ways to cut costs on florals for your wedding:
Call up your local bulk superstore for heavily discounted flowers that you can pick up a few days before your wedding events
The dollar tree is a great source for vases, and bulk orders can be placed a week or two in advance for pickup at your local store (did we mention it’s just $1 a vase?)

Online websites are a great resource for specialty flowers and bulk rose petals
Find manzanita trees on websites like Ebay or Etsy, these normally come straight from the farm and can be spray painted any color and mixed with flowers for tall centerpieces
By utilizing stores like Dollar Tree for vases, you can make a stunning wedding reception centerpiece by grouping together multiple shorter vases and using floating candles for light. Tuck handfuls of baby’s breath in between vases to create a soft, romantic look. For an added touch, wrap ribbons around your vases in contrasting colors and secure them with double-sided tape. Don’t be afraid to use black in your wedding to contrast against bright colors!
