For many of you brides this may be your first time going through the wedding planning process, for others you may have siblings, best friends, or cousins that have already gone through it. However, for all brides, the biggest thing on her mind is the wedding outfit…and the cost! Thankfully, because of sites like Pinterest and images popping up all over social media you have thousands of ideas at your fingertips. But, how much should you spend on an Indian outfit? First, you need to create a budget that works for you. Then, present that (present what- the cost or the design?) to the store or designer. If you show them a picture of a $5,000 Indian wedding outfit and tell them you only have $1,500 to spend, ask them to make adjustments in the fabric, embellishments and design to fit your budget. If your designer asks what your budget is and you respond with “We don’t have one” then you are their dream client. From a designer’s perspective, they now have free reign on the most exquisite fabrics, top of the line embellishments and elaborate crystals to take your idea from an acceptable price to sky’s the limit pricing . All of a sudden, you’re looking at a $15,000 wedding outfit!
