Indian designer, Rina Dhaka, showcased soft hues with a heavy yet delicate gotta patti work, zardozi, kamdani and ari embroidery from the heartland of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Her bridal clothes would be great for various events the week of your wedding.
Indian clothing designer Anju Modi’s collection titled Manikarnika paid homage to the ancient craftsmanship of India. “The embroideries are derived from the architecture, with the paintings of the Ajanta-Ellora caves as perfect muses to the artwork and details,” she stated. This elegant and delicate lehengas would be great for an Indian wedding outfit!
The Indian Couture Week superstars, Shantanu and Nikhil and Varun Bahl showcased looks for the modern Indian bride. They took the classic Indian silhouettes and turned them into fresh and trendy pieces down the runway. Design embellishments like sequins and stone work are now being replaced with delicate lace, intricate stitching and elegant silhouettes. Indian clothing designer Varun Bahl brought in bold colors with soft lace and sheer bodices for today’s modern bride!
Our final piece is from Sabyasachi’s collection, while there were many in this collection that we loved, this one literally had us hold our breath when we saw it.
