Hindu Jewish wedding reception at Mechanics Hall
Jhilam and Danny’s colorful wedding reception
After the heartwarming Hindu Jewish wedding ceremony, the vendors transformed the room with the lighting and decor for the vibrantly colorful reception. From the branches illuminated on the walls by Boston Sound and Light to the beautiful centerpieces to Jhilam’s traditional silk saree David Tucker Photography captured it all.
Vendor that blew your mind: Ambika Wali Patel from BluePrint Occasions... I couldn’t have a better wedding planner. She kept the whole weekend moving like a well-oiled machine. She is amazingly calm, kind, and every one of my vendors relied on her.
First dance song: Remix of Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Callait into Forever by Chris Brown… to surprise the guests with a choreographed dance!
Entrance song: Pi’s Lullaby (Bridesmaids)/ Jashn e Bahara (Bridal entrance), Gone Gone Gone, Phillip Phillips (Reception)
Anything you would want to do differently: I think we wouldn’t do the midnight snacks. There was just too much food!

Cake flavors: Raspberry filling with vanilla cake.
Your wedding day in your words: The day felt surreal. It wasn’t easy to absorb all the emotions of the day so I took in all the sights, smells and sounds and tucked them away to interpret later. I can remember the colors, red, gold, teal, orange and yellow, the laughing, the dancing, the speeches, the music and the food. I remember just feeling this sustained joy and nervousness the whole day. There were family and friends everywhere I looked and it made me wish I could be a fly on the wall at every table. For us, our wedding weekend stretched out over Friday, Saturday, Sunday and a Monday brunch which allowed us to talk with all of our guests and hear their thoughts on the whole event. That also helped me to hold on to the beauty of the event.
