Saree
A saree is the most recognized from all the different types of South Asian Clothes. A saree is an unstitched cloth worn by females ranging from 4 to 9 yards in length that is draped and pleated over a body in various styles. It has 3 main pieces: the blouse, an underskirt and the fabric.
Most of the wedding sarees are usually bright colors like Red, Pink , purples etc. These sarees are highly embroidered with gold and silver threads. Wedding embroidered sarees are usually of North Indian Banarsi style and South Indian Kanjivaram sarees.
Lehenga
A Bridal Lehenga has become the most popular choice for an Indian Bride’s wedding outfit. It consists of 3 pieces a blouse, a full skirt and a dupatta which is draped. They are a very important part of a Bridal Trousseau. These Lehengas are available not only in hues of red but also in other colors. Sequins, aari, cutdana, zari,beads, resham, booti, dori, dumka, kasab, patch, sitara and Kundan are the few of many types of elaborate work which could be employed in a Bridal lehenga meant for special occasions.
The silhouette in the lehenga for bride are well matched with their color and embroidery designs. Fish cut pattern, straight cut, A line cut and flares are the popular cut patterns
in bridal lehenga.
Lachcha
Lachcha is also very popular among Indian and Pakistani wedding guests. It is a form of lehenga with a long blouse which sits below your hips paired with a skirt, duppata or vest. Lachchas are available in different fabrics like silk, georgette, crepe, net, satin, brocade, and chiffon. Convenient to wear and easy to manage even if it is very heavy. The color, craft and ability to customize are some of the plus points that go in favor of this beautiful and gorgeous attire- It is a must in a Bride’s wardrobe.
Sharara
The Sharara is a having a moment in Indian and Pakistani clothing. The charm of this outfit gives a mesmerizing look to the wearer. This trendy dress is fitted till the knee and big flare from the knee onward, providing a full skirt like look. A short or a long blouse is worn with these matching pants. It is also worn with a dupatta. A ghagra is similar but the pants are full so that it gives the illusion of a skirt.
Salwaar Kameez
One of the most common type of Indian and Pakistani clothing is the Salwar kameez. It is an outfit that has three pieces – a salwar , a kameez and a dupatta. A salwar resembles loose pajama pants and it is drawn tightly at the waist then it tapers at the ankles. The kameez forms the upper part of the outfit, it is a top that goes over the salwar and it is of knee length. Some women even use a long scarf with salwar kameez and this scarf is called a Dupatta. Some women use dupatta as a stylish accessory and some women use it to cover their head in the presence of elders or while visiting temples.
