10 Details to Consider for your Outdoor Indian Wedding

10 Small details that your Indian wedding guests will appreciate. We’ve all attend that one wedding where we just couldn’t wait for it to be all over. You feel bad for the bride and groom, they don’t control the weather, but they could have provided a few of the items below to make the outdoor Indian wedding bearable.

  • Shade

    Provide them with shade from the weather, especially if your Desi wedding is in the summer months or at a hot destination. No one can sit in the sun for that long fully dressed in Indian clothes or Pakistani attire. Speak to your decorator about creating a canopy for your guests or have your ceremony in a shaded area with natural covering provided by trees.

  • Hydration Station

    Whether they just danced their way over from the Baraat or they walked over from their rooms a Cold Drink Station will provide some refreshment to your guests. You can have flavored water, some cold fruit for them and they will appreciate it.

  • Dress Code

    Provide your guests with the ultimate reprieve from the heat by giving them a relaxed dress code.  No one wants to wear a heavy anarkali on a sunny beach in the Carribean summer.  Give them your realistic dress code detail on your wedding website and your invitations.

  • Fans

    If you can setup fans on the sides of the areas where it will not be an issue do so.  Be sure to check the noise level of the fans prior to.  If they are a bit of an eye sore then have the decorator tie ribbons onto it or site up some type of decor.

  • Handkerchiefs

    The poor guys in suits! They are not going to want to hold a parasol or a cute fan, a basket of handkerchiefs will be much appreciated by them.  Get fabric and multiple prints and colors and have a seamstress finish them for you. If you have the budget you can have your wedding date embroidered on them.

  • Bathroom Baskets

    This has become a must have for all weddings.  Small details that help with the heat, sweat and humidity.  You can/should have items such as hair spray, bobby pins, blotting paper, safety pins, hair ties to start.

  • Sunglasses

    These can double as a wedding favor for your guests to rock all weekend.  You can drop these in your welcome bags when your guests check in or at your first wedding event.

  • Parasols

    Not only are these parasols chic, but they will double as a wedding favor that your guests will want to take home.  You can set them up in a several ways to even add a decor element to your outdoor wedding.

  • Fruit & Ice cream

    While your wedding guests might be seated outdoors for 1.5 hours having some ice cold fruit, ice cream, slushie drink, or lemonade will make it that much more enjoyable for them to be a witness to your wedding day.
